Hallo, I‘m Kristin Gall, from Missouri, USA. I go by the name Red Reaper. I along with others from the USA were told about this site on RED POWER MAGAZINE Forum at redpowermagazine.com. I‘m happy to see a German site devoted to IH. I am of German decent, and my familie came from Gross Tajax, Austria back in 1883 (now called Dyjakovice in the Czech rep.) Are there any members here from that area? My other side of the familie is Krause also from Germany, but I have not found where from yet. I am slowly trying to learn German, but is very difficult, so please understand my German is not so good. I cannot wait to visit Germany and Austria some day.

I have many IH tractors, such as 560,756,806,4-1206‘s, one with a V8 that I installed, 1256,1456, 5088,5488. One of the 1206‘s is a prototype, and the 5088 is an experimental tractor saved from salvage thanks from the help of Gonzo1066.

I‘ll try some test photos and see if I can get the hang of this site. I look forward to contributing here. If you like, I can post more pictures. Red Reaper.

Hallo,

mehrere BIlder wären schön, ich Interessiere mich schon seit längerem auch für amerikanische Traktoren (Steiger, Versalite, John Deere, IH ...)

to our site of International,Farmall,McCormick and Deering tractors.

We´re a big community over here of the other side of the great pond.
Our members are farmers, collectors, ag mechanics ... the whole conglomeration of IH enthusiasts.

Myself i was a former member of IH Germany here at Neuss on Rhine
and i am the webmaster of this site and of www.ihc.de.
Have a look on it, it is fully bi-lingual (german and english)

You own a great flood of red tractors. I wrote in your thread, that another part
of your family - Krause from Germany -. Do you hold any other information,
perhaps a destination, where that part of your family comes from ?

For any questions, please contact.

Regards
matbush

Dear Kristin,

you really operate a quite big number of interesting IH tractors. Tell us something more about the farm size and the tractors you own. If you can forward a bit more information about your relatives in Germany we could try to get more details for you.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Ulli

Matt, you have a great site here!!! It‘s just like Redpowermagazine.com‘s forum here in the USA. I have seen your name somewhere before, possibly on Red Power? Thanks for the offers guys to locate familie origin. When I get some time, I may do some more research and see what I can find. I may ask you guys for some help when I have problems. I appreciate the offers.

Ulli, I farm about 800 acres by myself, my father and uncle farm another 2500 acres by themselves. We raise Corn, Soybeans and Wheat. We also have around 300 head of cattle all together. I have a couple horses and 9 pigs at the moment.

I have a passion for 06 and 56 series IH tractors. I started farming with a 1206, which I still have. I restored a 1206 my grandfather had when I was a child. I found it in salvage and restored it. I knew it was the one by the serial number. I also own another 1206 that was burnt in a fire. I installed a International 9.0 liter V8 engine in it because I thought that‘d be the ultimate hot rod tractor. The original motor was no good. It‘s picture is posted above. The 2 prototype tractors, are test tractors used at IH‘s Hinsdale test farm. My 5088 experimental was painted like a 1086 when it was new, so if a John Deere spy saw it from a distance, he‘d think it was just another 86 series. Both the 5088 and 1206 prototypes are not restored yet. I have a 1256 all original, with only 2800 hours on the meter. It is like new! I use a 756 gas tractor for my loader tractor. It only has 3100 hours on the meter. Currently I‘m working on a 806 that my father had when I was a kid. It had been sold from our farm 28 years ago, and I got the chance to buy it back a few weeks ago. I plan on restoring it.

Here is the 1206 V8 before picture.

Hi Kristin,
nice to meet you and a warm welcome in the German sector of the International Harvester Company.
Very nice tractor you have there in your collection. I have just returned from a three-week visit from Texas. On a day trip to Louisiana, I could see three powerful IHC 4366th Otherwise found in the Houston area mostly John Deere products.
What I noticed is that many retailers offer a large scale and KUBOTA ISEKI tractors as new vehicles.
I myself have two tractors IHC from German production. Once a model 353 diesel with 35 HP and a very rare special IHC tractors, model 433 in a very narrow vineyard variant also with 35 HP.

I wish you much fun in German IHC Forum and the diversity of information that is offered there. For questions or problems, we help you.

Greetings to the United States
Matthias

Hi Kristin,

posted some threads on RedPowerForum in the past and have some contacts to
Guy Fay, Kenneth Updike, Randy Leffingwell and some other guys
due to information about our german tractos and the american irons.

Hallo, I did a little looking to see where my Great Grandfather Herman Krause came from, and the only thing I can tell is listed Germany, Pomerania, on our census. Some say West Pomerania Germany. I know that is in the north east corner of Germany. He was born in 1860, and immigrated in 1884 after his brother John immigrated in 1877. That is all the information I can find. Do you guys know of any immigration records in Germany? I may have a ship name, Possibly a ship called Hohenstaufen that arrived in US on October 31st 1884, thank you for any help.
